The royal funeral for the king was held by Princess Aureala to honor the king for his sacrifice to save the realm from the horde. The monsters were driven back to the abyss and sealed away but at the cost of the king's life. It was a day of mourning for all the people in the land and you were among those invited to the ceremony.
(Everyone is welcomed to role play here. By honoring the death of the king and with five role play posts, you will receive +1 Honor Point.)

A man walked around the place where the Kings funeral was held. He was dressed much differently than everyone, instead of robes of mourning, he was wearing fine clothes of bright colors; almost what would be worn at a wedding. Another thing that set him apart from all the other people was the grin on his face. This man was the famed assassin Aguilon. Being the anarchist he was, he enjoyed the thought of no King.
What a noble death Aguilon sarcastically thought to himself. After a bit of joyfully parading around the area, he relaxed himself into a corner and watched the people mourn and suffer.

Although Princes Aureala was occupied with the crowd she couldn't help but notice a flamboyant man around the corner of the hall. She figured that it would be best to introduce herself and thank the person for his attendance. Princess Aureala approached the person, with her bodyguard the famed Aldair several steps behind her. Aureala: Welcome and thank you for your attendance. I am Aureala. It is an honor to have you here. She bowed politely with a warm smile and her bodyguard bowed as well but only slightly.

Back from conducting an orchestra playing his symphony dedicated for the late King, Meinard wiped off the sweat from his head. From his looks right then he would not be distinguished as the leader of some clan, but as someone dedicated to music. But a deep sadness hung in his soul. Back there, he should have protected the King when he went out for the final battle, but the huge amount of workload in the Council deterred him from doing so.
"If there's one more man... If only I was also there..." He bit his lip in deep thought.
He then entered the ceremony, and said, "I am a lone musician by the name of M. DeFunis, and I am here to express my condolences to the late King."

And this is Lord Otomo, Captain of the Order of Paladins..." The emotionless Otomo stepped forward, the large bald man towering over everyone in the vicinity. "I am Otomo. I think we've met before. Aren't you a member of the council? Or am I mistaken?"

Upon hearing the princess speak, Aguilon gave a flashy bow to both people in front of him. "It is an honor, Princess." When he raised himself, a large grin was seen on his face. "I must say, you look beautiful as always." Then he turned over to her bodyguard and said while winking, "You don't look half bad yourself there big fella'." His grin still on his face, he turned back to the princess, "You know it's such a tragedy. The kings death and all." His voice wasn't very convincing that he was being sympathetic, but he continued anyways. "It's only going to cause more harm than good really...you know?"

The princess approved Aguilon's words with a small nod and responded, "The kingdom is no more. And I am afraid that the lords of the land will..." before she can finished her sentence Aldair placed a hand on her shoulder and spoke on her behalf.
"Oh well, the warlords will find a way to settle this issue... Hopefully without much bloodshed. We are not in a position to contest for the throne. We are neutral and we are not interested with the politics involved. What the princess is more concern is the growing Horde. Although the king drove the monsters back to the Abyss; it is obvious that we can't seal them off forever. Perhaps when that time comes, we would require your skill to keep the monsters at bay."
Indeed what Aldair has said is something that the people are really concern about. The return of the Horde could spell another disaster to the realm.

Meinard took a deep thought, and said, "A member of the council? Me? Members of the council are always planning ahead before deciding on the best assault that must be done, and also goes out to fight when needed or calculated upon. Do you think that I, a person who stays inside the capital to set in order my papers instead of fighting alongside the King as he predicted, am worthy of being a member of the Council?" As he said these words, tears streamed from his face.

"Well..."
Otomo stopped as he noticed tears on his face.
"What is your name?" Princess Aureala asked and smiled meekly.
"Surely more important matters must be attended to especially now since the kingdom is no more..." she added.
"What are your plans now? With the growing tension between the warlords who are vying for control and supremacy, what is the future that you see?"

Aguilon started to chuckle at the bodyguard's words. "Without much bloodshed? I believe you may have to much faith in people. Look around us..." The assassin gave a motion towards the crowd of people in the area and his face became serious. "These people are nothing but greedy bastards. They're here not to mourn the King's death. They're here so they can try to mooch off a vulnerable empire and grub for whatever they can. And so will the clan chiefs and warlords. They're armies will shred this Kingdom to bits, being blinded by their own greed while a much greater threat to them lurks in the shadows!" The assassin's expression turned back into a cheerful one almost immediately after he finished. "But, maybe the Princess could take over. That would eliminate the possibility of a civil war wouldn't it? But what fun would that be?" Aguilon gave a sly wink as he finished.

"I am not in a position or power to take over the throne. I am not a princess, it is but a title given to me by the kind king to an orphan like myself. As a priestess in training now, I am in no position to challenge the right to rule this land. That would be wrong." Princess Aureala explained.
"And the warlords never consider her as the princess. Throwing her in to all this political mess would result in more complications instead. And that's our role to make sure that the princess' name and honor be used and abused by those with evil intent." Aldair added with a smile.
"But anyways I think I like you already!" Aldair said with a chuckle and clapped his hands. "I like your straight forward no nonsense approach to the politics of the land. But although I do agree with your statement, it would be wise to keep our thoughts to ourselves, at least for now. But what is your name sir? I don't recall me meeting you before. And if you are interested I am sure there is a quest for you to utilize your skills."
